why we’re running

Despite spending more money per capita on maternal health than any country in the world, the United States ranks a shocking 55th in maternal deaths. It is the only industrialized nation with a consistently rising maternal mortality rate.

This burden is not shared equally. Black and Indigenous mothers in the U.S. are 2-3 times more likely to die from pregnancy and childbirth-related causes.

How it works

Join the team

Sign up to join the team and run (or walk!) the Race for Justice on October 10, sponsored by FIRST RESPONSE™ Pregnancy Tests. You can pledge the distance you want to run (1 mile, 5K, half/full marathon, or a symbolic distance of your choosing), and get your fundraising toolkit to raise funds and awareness about birth justice.

Wherever you are

On October 10, wherever you are, lace up. Run or walk your chosen distance in solidarity with the entire team. As you finish your race, a virtual finish line of your team and favorite coaches will celebrate the accomplishment alongside you.
